Peter Vieveen Announces Retirement

It is with great pride and strong sense of anticipation that I announce my retirement as President of North America Traffic.

We have accomplished a lot over the last 25 years – first as R.C. Flagman and later, as North America Traffic.  I say “we” because you cannot have success without having good people around you.  I have always had fantastic employees, suppliers, and customers, who really care about the company and who all exemplify our Core Values.

Our company has evolved from manufacturing a single product – the Remote Controlled Flagman – to a diverse range of traffic signaling devices.  In this coming fall, we will introduce our next generation of product lines, including a more efficient trailer footprint and a new, more powerful proprietary controller.

In the summer of 2012, recognizing the changing times before us, I established an “Executive Committee” consisting of myself, Jordan Sherlock, and Dave Cornish.  Both men have played crucial roles in our continuous development over the past 5 years and have guided North America Traffic to new heights.  Both are now well prepared to carry on the management and values of our company as I take my leave.

  • My retirement officially takes effect this month, July 2017! I will maintain 100% ownership in North America Traffic, and I will continue to contribute in an advisory capacity as Chairman of the Board.
  • Jordan will take on the role of President. He has been with the company for 10 years, starting in our finance department.  With a degree in Business Management, a well-rounded understanding of our industry, and his willingness to take on new challenges, Jordan will bring capable, inspired leadership to his new position.
  • Dave has now succeeded to the title of Vice President of Operations, after 15 years’ hard work and dedication to the company. He joined us as a welder and, through his diligence and hands-on experience, he has won the respect of every one of our employees and proven his effectiveness as a leader.

Our company is on firm footing, with industry-leading products, exceptional people, sound finances, a growing sales & support network, and most importantly, a clear vision of our future. The time is ripe for me to “let go of the vine” and pass the torch on to a younger generation.

I thank you all for your continued support of me, my family, and the North America Traffic family over the years. I hope that our paths continue to cross in the future – you can be sure to find me on the golf course!

Deepest regards,

Peter
